Death by Platypus

In addition to heading to Guero’s and a walk down South Congress this weekend, last weekend we took the kids to see the lighting of the Capitol tree Saturday and the lighting of the Zilker Park tree on Sunday. Both kids had a blast at the Zilker tree. Quinn was mesmerized hanging upside down in Mommy’s arms, while Tyler spun himself silly. I got some fun shots of the tree:

Oof, what a day. Both kids were tired and cranky all day, and totally out of sync with each other. However, our friends called us about going to get dinner, and we decided to go down to Guero’s Taco Bar on South Congress. We loaded up the kids and went with it.

I’d brought my camera, so after a nice dinner, we wandered down S. Congress looking at lights and in shop windows, and enjoying the chilly weather. The kids seemed to have a great time, and it was a nice break from the pandemonium of earlier. Of course, it went right back to that once we got home, but…

About mid-November, I realized I didn’t have a good, recent photo of both kids for the Christmas letter, so I started bringing the camera everywhere, hoping for the right shot. As a result, got some fun shots of the kids playing at Madison Cua’s second birthday at the park. Late Fall is toddler birthday season. This was one of several opportunities for all of the next generation of Vincera folk to get together. (For a bit of history, Vincera was the company I helped start back in 2000. All of the founders and their families were very close. Save for one family who got a head start on the rest, we all got married within about a year of each other, and now we all started having kids within a couple years of each other.)
